Delete seems to work.
But it leaves the folders and files on the physical drive.

I guess it just deletes the folder off the "mirror" drive so it does appear to work.

I think that is the same behavior as the old version, the folder is gone from the Mirror drive, but it is not deleted off the Physical Drive.

I think this is a known issue he was planning to fix?

Yeah i am not sure what build I have. I have a special build that enables sharing to work on Server 2008 but it seems to have regressions, or the bugs are just still present.

You know, we really really really need some issue tracking system to cut down on the confusion.

If work stays quiet, I'll try to list the current issues by scouring the forums and put them into one thread that we can test / track against.
EDIT: there are many many issue threads. It won't be manageable in a post. We will need statuses, priorities, OS, and version fields and such.

Brahim, what do you think about using a bug tracking app and giving some people from the forum access to create & update it? It would be a much better mechanism than just the forum to improve FlexRAID. I'm sure people will help out managing it.

@webs0r

Yeah, I setup Mantis for bug tracking a week ago but got sidetracked with the Linux port.
The lack of bug tracking is certainly making things confusing.
The patch I issued you certainly regressed certain fixes, and I have made a number of fixes since then too.

Anyway, I have a bug tracking solution setup. I just need to publish it.

Just wanted to check in to see if the External Directory monitoring bug has been addressed in the new version?

Do provide enough detail including whether or not you are writing through the View.

Just wondering how all the testing is coming along?
Any ideas of a possible ETA for release?

With 2011 nearing, WHS users would be as keen as mustard to migrate as long as a DE of sorts is available. A few are starting to surface, but yours is by far the top of my list to test and trial.

@mrees
Testing is coming along just fine.
Although, I need more users to test the real-time feature.
A number of the unfinished features are things I can tackle fairly easily, but I am currently devoting my time to making the real-time filesystem robust and resilient.

I am convinced things will be ready by the time WHS v2 is out.

Am I missing something? Is live available to more people now?

Ah yes, I'm slow. Thought it was an update to just the snapshot, thanks! I might rig up a windows machine to test (so tempting!), but I'm holding out for the linux build.

Great work as always.

I am testing the real-time config. so far everything is running fine. I have scripted some file/folder copy deletes from one network share to the flexraid share.

setup
host: i7 2600K, 8GB, 250GB SSD, 4x2TB, Win 7 x64
vmware guest - 2x2 CPU, 1024 MB, 1 40GB, 6 250GB, Win 2008 R2 x64

Workstation: Core i7-2600K, 16 GB Ram, 1 SSD, 4 x 2TB, Win 7 x64 |VMWare Guest (FlexRaid): 1 x 2 CPU, 1 GB Ram, Win Server 2008 R2 x64

Nice.
Build 7 will be out this weekend with additional fixes. I will also try to complete the real-time RAID expansion feature this week (not sure why I procrastinated so much on that one).
Hopefully, we will be able to elevate the real-time engine from alpha to beta after we test that build.
