For me something relatively easy to make, would be to make FlexRAID as an add-in to WHS!
This would allow you to put it in the WHS repository of add-ins and would in fact be a great promotion to your work.
It is supposed to be very easy to make esp. since you already have a working webui (would be better if you make it run as a service though).
Someone even made a utorrent add-in and it works fine!
http://www.deciphered.net/blog/2007/04/25/howto_install_utorrent_service_windows_home_server_whs_ctp
I'd love this.

The product in that link isn't an add-in.
It install the same as FlexRAID does on WHS (http://www.openegg.org/forums/posts/list/176.page).
I did think of integrating the WebUI into the WHS server console.
I will do that when I have some time.
However, this would be a very low priority item since accessing the WebUI through any browser is better than doing it through the server console.
What I think should happen is for someone to create a totally different client that is integrated into the WHS server console.

Hm you didn't give much of a look in the link I gave you.
There is a zipped version including a instruction PDF (newer than the web instructions), close the top of the page.
Make sure to test it in your vmware whs... I did and here is what I got: (see attachment)
Pretty neat if you ask me.
BTW, this whole setup looks like a really "amateur" setup (no insult to the guys that made it), so I am sure you can cook something like that yourself without eating too much dev. time.

Here are the links you need:
(instructions and plug-in MSI)
http://www.deciphered.net/files/file/webwacker/Marceln.HomeServer.ConsoleTab.Utorrent.Setup%201.1.zip
(anyserviceinstaller - could be useful for your webserver too)
http://www.deciphered.net/files/file/webwacker/AnyServiceInstaller%201.0.zip
...and you need utorrent itself and a couple of more extras (see the instructions).
Did it in 5 minutes.
Two notes:
- If after installing the service you try to open utorrent normal (windows) interface, it will whine that it's already open. You need to temporarily stop the service if you really need to open this window (duh!) - for example if you forgot to setup an important program parameter.
- I am not so keen on using a special new account, especially named "whs services" (with a white space!)... As an admin I would suggest it (keep things clean), but in WHS context, better keep things simple: Either use administrator account, or use your "primary" WHS user, who you elevate to a proper administrator (as all of us will do anyway for our own account).
FlexWHS is really cool.

Ah, my bad... didn't look at the PDF.
Funny how the PDF is more up to date than the page it is supposed to be representation of.
Yeah, I know how to integrate the WebUI into the WHS server console using WHS's SDK.
I am just not sure of the usefulness of that outside of the cool factor... then again, look and feel does count for a lot.
For now, I prefer users to use their browsers, which is better than being tied to the WHS server console.
If I ever create a desktop client, I will certainly have it as a WHS plug-in.

Just to make the thread more complete, here is something else that might be useful towards this end:

Ah, you beat me to it.
I was just getting ready to post it. LOL!
Definitely looks great.
No need to mess with the WHS SDK to integrate into the server console.
As such, users can integrate Firefox to access the WebUI.
Even a desktop client now doesn't have to be WHS server console specific.
Cool stuff!

Tried this:
http://www.andrewgrant.org/whiist
(not yet tab creator)
and worked fine to add a FlexRAID link in my WHS personal web page...
the problem now is to start the batch file that kickstarts tomcat, WITHOUT logging in my WHS (i.e. as a service)
any ideas?
(and you are interested in doing that ANYWAY)

There are a lot of things I will be doing to the WebUI.
I am thinking about also creating a simple service that you can remotely use to launch any application or start any service on your computer.
Obviously, there are security risks to having such a service.
So, I am going to have to change the clients to support encrypted communications.
Tomcat, which is the application server used to run the WebUI, can be run as a service.
There are ways to have the WebUI run on your own web application server and your own database.
These are advanced topics, however.

Actually, you need a Java web application server.
In a more advanced setting, you could use IIS + Java web application server (technical value - no real value otherwise).
Don't worry about this unless you have an existing Java application server and an existing database and you want to consolidate.

indeed - and tomcat is very light after all
but it would be nice in next webui version to have a nicer install (that also installs as service)
