Maybe give the server enough time to fully boot. That's just 5 seconds you have there. The host is also running as a service. Right? Also, get into the habit of posting your logs (FlexRAID Host logs).

I'm an idiot. Seems that I a double extension and it was Autostart.txt.txt.
All good now, shares come back up automatically upon reboot, etc. now I just need to test the parity work.
Is there a way in WebUI or something to schedule the parity snapshots? Would love to do it every night if possible.

Ready driver plus didn't work for me, the following works fine and doesn't require you to modify your boot settings:

Not sure if this is worthy of a dedicated thread, so I figured I'd post here.
I'm having trouble with permissions on my FlexRAID-View volume. The Guest account (this is Windows XP) is unable to access the disk. Subsequently, anonymous network sharing also does not work.
I modified the permissions of the hard folders that make up directories of the view to give Guests full control, which did not work. I then added the Guest account to the Administrators group which still did not solve the problem. I've also tried reinstalling view, but with no success.
As far as I know, I'm running the latest version of FlexRAID.
Thanks in advance for any help!
UPDATE:
I'm not sure what I did, but I recreated my view's configuration, and now the Guest account can access the view as a member of the Administrators group. Still no dice with the Guest account though.

Questions about ReconnectShares.txt.
1) Do I have to have the shares already... erm... shared?
Or after reboot this will build the shares even I didn't have them set initially?
2) Can I use groups instead of users? (or even combination)
3) BONUS: REQUEST: You have READ/CHANGE/FULL, but you don't have "HIDE" or "NONE". What if I need to make a share non accessible to a user or group? (because I don't think "no access" is the default)
And please don't get lost for months again!

...I just started view.
(btw the trick to go to testmode works great)
I merged 9 disks (from their root folder).
Only two have the same folder.
So I see that it shows twice.
Well some things are a bit... scary.
System folders ($RECYCLE.BIN, _flxr_, System Volume Information) show NINE TIMES. Don't tell me I should have those hidden. It is a server I need to see those - when working on the drives themselves, not the merged view. So there should be a way to ignore those things?
Also, what happens if I make explicit merges to folders that are not yet there? Why? To be ready for spills and not go back to ViewConfig.txt to handle every new spill.
It would be way more preferable to have a switch and make the system default to auto-creating folders and auto-merging them, instead of the vague "internal structure" (which as I said above really needs clearing out what you mean).
(please do NOT forget to answer my previous questions first)

I am trying to install FlexRaid View, but when I type 'view install' into the cmd client, it says 'Step Two Install Failed'
Previously I had the 'Step One Install Failed' but I downloaded the d.dat file and it seemed to get rid of that problem. Now I don't know what this Step Two problem is. Looked for an answer but can't find one anywhere on the net.
If anyone can help me with this I would appreciate it.

You should never need to download and edit a DAT file.
What you need to do is uninstall, reboot, and install.
You need to follow the steps to the letter if you want a successful install.

I have actually uninstalled it 3 or 4 times, and followed instructions carefully.
As for editing the dat file, I was only following your instructions in another thread trying to get rid of the 'Step One' error. Here is the steps I took that led me to the 'Step Two' Error...
Brahim wrote:Did you follow the uninstall instructions? And rebooted?
Try this:
1. From the command line client execute: run view uninstall
2. Reboot
3. Execute: run view install
If that fails:
1. Copy the attached file to the "ext" folder, which is in your installation directory
2. Open a DOS prompt and run: net stats workstation
3. Edit the file you've just downloaded and replace the date you see there with the date you see from the DOS command output (the date where the line reads: Statistics since....)
4. Run the install command again

Hi I'm new here but have been reading quite a bit on this form. I've been haveing problems with my Flexraid-View crashing. I've installed Readydriverplus(all at default) and gotten my view to work, for a while, but then it disappers. If I try to check the view status I get a bunch of JAVA errors that I ready some place ment that Readydriverplus had crashed. I'd like to try the Driver Signature Enforcement Overrider alternative but don't know what file I'm supose to point to. NLS or Kayomani could you please let me know the path to the file so I can try this method?
Thanks.

Hi, you don't need Readydriverplus with the new version of Flexraid.

Thanks for the reply gprime. The new version works much better. I'm still having problems with reconnecting my shares. I have the following ReconnectShares.txt file. The share reconnects on startup but "Everyone" is set to "Read", not "Full". Can anyone tell me what I need to change to make it work.
Thanks,
ReconnectShares.txt

just add this line
MediaRaid="Z:\" /GRANT:Everyone,FULL
remove your first line it's not useful.
If it's not working, remove your share manually.
Restart your computer and see if the share have been recreated with the right permission.

Hi,
I'm trying to install View, but nothing happens when I run "view install". Here's what the CMD Client looks like:
After hitting ENTER, the cursor just stands one line under the input but nothing happens. I waited for about 15 minutes...
I dont know if there should be a message, but there is also no service called "FlexRAID Disk Manager" so I guess it wasn't installed correctly.
I'm running Windows Server 2003.
Rebooting doesn't help.

Found this in the forums - similar error, but the user fixed it:
Read the whole post... Slightly different error, but both have the same Java Lib load failure.
