Great. What I was actually waiting for someone to make!
You understand that such a feature set, actually makes it IMPERATIVE to work with x64 and the latest kernel without tricks.

Any chance of a "spoiler" on this topic in particular?

"(fully manageable through the dashboard)"

Means the OS considers it as a PROPER drive so it actually shows up on SBSE/WHS (v2) dashboard as a volume. This will allow it to be used for shares, system backup etc.

GREAT.

Of course I have to see it with my eyes first.

For you, hopefully this weekend... for others, err... much later.
I will spend the next few days debugging the heck out of it.
Some UI changes are needed to expose some of the new features (not yet mentioned), but I will get to that when I am happy with my testings of the core features.

Great, can't wait!
Will need to think about how to test it though.
Do you think I'll be able to give it a try on my server, and come back to the official 2.0 afterwards?

Of course, I'll try first on a VM or on my other PC, with smaller configs, but after some tests, I'd like to give it a try on a full size system.

I think that is the icon for a removable disk.

Any ETA on a beta release for the new storage pool? I'm building a new 24 hotswap-bay storage server this weekend and am trying to decide whether to go with WHS 2011 or Windows 7. Full compatibility with WHS would certainly make it a more attractive choice.
