Hi,
I made some modifications to the AdvancedRAIDReconfigurationNotes_fr.htm and replace words by some others than I found more appropriated in french.
Especially "surcharge" than can't replace the very hard to translate "overide". I put "mode manuel" but it can also be "mode édition" or "mode substitution".
second read and no change to the CommandMessage_fr.properties
second read and some changes to the ConstantText_fr.properties
is it normal than this is still in english ? : errorValuesMustBeNumeric=Values must be all numeric!
I don't see anything else to change. I think we did a good job

@nulbox
Indeed. You guys did a fantastic job (especially that the translation was not verbatim but took into context the semantics). Thanks again for the work.
Ps. My first language is... French... but I very much lack the French IT lingo.
All English entries should be translated. So, I think that entry was just a miss.

Yeah, that one was added together with many other, but it was so far at the end of the file que je ne l'ai pas vue
OK for your corrections - just added an s at the end of the new translation.
Apart from that I think it's ok!
So Brahim you speak french... That's a surprise

Excellent! From now on I'll enter all my bug reports in French
Just kidding... So FlexRAID is a francophone piece of SW then...
Oh and by the way, my latest bug report with wrong file dates, I think I figured out the reason: some time ago, I lost a drive (I think I lost the drive because it was a 3TB hooked to a dated SATA controller). Unfortunately, then, FlexRAID was not yet set up in RAID mode , I was building it.
I used a SW to recover the files - I recovered them all, but I think I lost some of the dates in the process. I had all kinds of funny dates: from 2059 for video files to pictures taken in 4523...

Hi,
A question about installation.
I don't remember to have selected the language during the installation, was it a french only version ?
In the final release, will people have to select the installation language ?

No, I think it's a French-by-default installation.
I modified the URL to FlexRAID in the browser from http://localhost:8080/?locale=fr_FR to http://localhost:8080/?locale=en or http://localhost:8080 to compare with the English version, but Brahim then told that you can also modify the Locale.js file in the installation folder to something else.
But maybe your question is different - meaning will there be an installation step and/or a setting somewhere to change the language? I guess there should be for it to be more user friendly, if the intent is really to bring FlexRAID for the masses

Yes, it concerns the installation step and/or a setting somewhere to change the language.
You will always have people wanting an english version running on a french PC or any possible mixes.

Yes I agree, it is ususally in the installation procedure + a setting in the options menu.

You know how we tend to say it: Vive la francophonie!
Interesting about the dates. Since the affected files will get flagged sooner or later, I guess I don't need to put in any type of special feature to handle this on the fly.
Although a script that gets run as part of a "prepare for FlexRAID" process could be useful.
What I have in mind is a set of scripts that do various useful stuffs and are run as part of an expression script on the first "create".

The installer I am using is not very customizable. So, I have had to result to other means to make certain things happen.
By default, FlexRAID will install and use your default locale (whatever it is).
You can override that default local by editing the <ROOT>\Locale.js file and entering the desired locale.
This change requires a service restart.
Changing the local in just the URL will have a partial effect.

Yep, strong beleiver!

Well, I think I agree. Even though I don't remember whether the UI told me to look for warnings in the logs, or if I did that myself. Because if it's a silent warning, then maybe it's a more serious issue, as people will have file unprotected. But since this should be a rare enough problem, a prepare script can be a cool idea!
Brahim wrote:You can override that default local by editing the <ROOT>\Locale.js file and entering the desired locale. This change requires a service restart.
I understand, and it's very OK for users that are already used to the product. For new users, and if your plan is to bring "FlexRAID to the masses", then maybe this kind of issue is a bit more problematic. Unfortunately, most first-time user would just download the installer, and try it without reading any tutuorial... And the more user-friendly your product is (and I really beleive it's reaching that point, at least for the most important features), the more you'll have this problem...

Questions:
So when does this parameter have a significance?
It seems to be very specific to particular files (not default usage), and still to be activated by default - is that normal?
Edit: never mind, I see now that by default, only very specific files are included.

It has significance only during batch operations like RAID initialization, RAID verification, and when restoring.
[Edit] I had to make a few minor changes to the files. Nothing to re-translate, but you should update before making additional changes.
Thanks.

@Brahim:
I've noticed that in French, the messages from "CommandMessage_fr.properties" are lacking the quote:
Laction demandee est deja en cours
instead of
L'action demandee est deja en cours
Should we double the quotes in that file too?
