This morning my new server gave a Bang! and some smoke when it started up. After some work i discovered that the only 2 days old power supply from ms-tech was to blame, and that the small explosion only ruined that and not all the other gear in the pc. So i moved the 4 Flexraid disks to my normal pc, installed flexraid, let it pick up the meta data from the parity disk and i set the data for the storage pool. Within 2 minutes of swapping the disks i was back in business !

Now waiting a few days for the power supply to be exchanged before moving the disks back to the server.

Thanks for such a great piece of software and i am eagerly awaiting release 12 !

Server: Amd X2, 3xDRU 1xPPU (8TB total), 1 separate sata boot disk, windows 7 ultimate, 4GB ram.

Very glad that you are enjoying the simplicity and thanks for the positive feedback.

Sorry I don't understand what you got from FlexRAID that you wouldn't get just from moving your data disks to the other machine?

Moving just the data disks would be an option if you only update the parity once every two weeks or so. As i update every other day. Also without flexraid i would loose the storage pool functionality, which is important to me.

Ah, ok, it's not like it saved you or something, just that it migrated well.
