np mate. You're only one man I tried registering with your bug tracking system, but I never got an email to activate account.
I was able to re-create the issue a 2nd time during the create process. It seems to happen after FlexRAID trips over a file that it cannot read and throws an IO error
Following this, all errors are Error message: null immediately after job task start (doesn't matter what job it is). Trying to re-create this on a smaller scale so that I can provide your with a cleaner flxr.meta file.
Might be a critical issue because read-errors would be the exact time I would want to restore something
Sorry Brahim. I noticed there was a similar issue for a while now that got no answer so I purged the parity folder and right now am in the process of creating it. I only saw your message after the fact . If I run into the same issue again, I'll let you know.
It seems I have the same issue as you. I thought I flipped through the Bug forum to check for the same problem, but it seems I have overlooked your thread. Here's my issue http://www.openegg.org/forums/posts/list/622.page
It's been a few days and no answer, so I'll just add a bit more info.
I had FlexRAID setup on a debian machine. I did use webui to configure it. Everything worked beautifully. That is until one file got corrupted and couldn't be read. rm still worked fine so that file is gone now.
The sudden loss of files got me all freaked out and I decided to test how well restore works. I tested before on small data sets, but never on 2TB. I added another drive, unmounted the drive with bad sectors, and mounted the new one. Tried to do a restore, and it failed with error:null. I unmounted the new drive and mounted the old one back, ran validate: same error. Ran rsynch, same error.
Doesn't matter what I'm trying to run, as soon as the job starts I get the following error (log files)
The errors are the same if it's verify/validate/rsynch....
I thought perhaps it's WebUI related so I spent all morning today figuring out the CMD client. Same exact problem. As soon as I run a task, FlexRAID reports Error message: null.
I mirrored the WebUI setup in config.txt, here's the config.txt (Each DRU = 1 drive)
